Scapa distillery in Island, Scotland
Island, Scotland

Scapa

Orkney's Gentle Side

Founded in 1885, Scapa has had a turbulent history of closures and reopenings. The installation of a Lomond wash still in the 1950s — one of the last of its kind — gave Scapa its distinctive character.

After years of neglect, investment from Pernod Ricard revived the distillery. The current releases showcase a smooth, honeyed style that offers a wonderful contrast to Highland Park's heathery peat.
