Glengoyne

Scotland's Slowest Distillery — Unhurried Excellence

Originally called Burnfoot, the distillery was renamed Glengoyne in 1905. It sits in a stunning wooded glen at the foot of Dumgoyne hill, with a picturesque waterfall providing the water source.

For decades Glengoyne was a blending workhorse, but the shift to single malt bottlings revealed a whisky of remarkable quality. The combination of unpeated malt, slow distillation, and predominantly sherry cask maturation creates a style that appeals to both newcomers and connoisseurs.

The Story

Founded 1833

The Glengoyne Style

Entirely unpeated, Glengoyne relies on the purity of its barley and the quality of its casks — predominantly European sherry oak. The slowest stills in Scotland produce a clean, sweet spirit that absorbs cask influence beautifully.

The result is golden, fruity, and rich — toffee apples, sherry sweetness, and a clean malt backbone without a trace of smoke.

Glengoyne 21 Year Old

Two decades in sherry casks transforms Glengoyne's clean spirit into liquid Christmas cake — rich, deep, and complex, yet retaining that signature clarity.
